What is NDIS Plan Management

Plan management is when a registered provider supports you to manage funding in your NDIS plan.

Under the NDIS a plan can be administered in three different ways –

  1. NDIA Managed
  2. Plan Managed
  3. Self Managed
A Plan manager will increase your choice of providers, pay your invoices from providers on your behalf, help you keep track of your plan funding and provide advice around how you can maximise the funding to achieve your goals.

Can you Be Plan Managed

Yes, everyone can have plan management included in their plan. In fact if you ask to be plan managed, the NDIS are legally required to provide the funding for it in your plan

How do I Switch my plan from NDIA or Self Managed to Plan Managed

If you are mid plan and don’t have a plan review scheduled anytime soon, you can still switch to be plan managed by contacting your LAC or the NDIS directly. Here’s how to make the change in three simple steps…  

  1. Call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or your Local Area Coordinator (your LAC’.s phone number will be on your NDIS plan)  and ask for a ‘light touch review’.

  2. Explain to them that you want to switch to plan management. There is no specific eligibility criteria that you need to meet. You may still be asked why you want to switch. Explain your reasons (which may include things like wanting to access unregistered providers or wanting assistance with managing your budgets) as this will help ensure your request is processed as quickly as possible.   

  3. You will be contacted by the NDIS or your Local Area Coordinator when your request has been processed.  If you’d like to be plan managed by our team here at Complete Money Management simply contact us once your request is approved. Give us a call on 1300 161 489 or sign up online to get set up quickly so you can access your support services and start maximising your plans funding.

How to Change plan Managers

Changing Plan Managers is very easy!

 

If you already have a plan manager but want to change and be part of the Complete Money Management family all you need to do is –

 

  1. Email your current plan Manager notifying them you would like to exit from their services.

  2. Follow up with a phone call to the current plan manager to ensure they have your request. Find out how long they will take to release your funding from the portal.

  3. Fill out the Complete Money Management Service Agreement.

  4. Once the plan has been released our friendly plan managers will be in contact with you to assist with all your needs.
