🚨 Key NDIS Pricing Update Effective 1 July 2025

💡 What’s Changing with Therapy Travel Costs?
Many NDIS participants have raised concerns that therapy-related travel claims are depleting their budgets faster than expected. In response, the NDIA has adjusted how travel time can be claimed by therapy providers.
From 1 July 2025:
Therapy providers can claim 50% of their hourly rate for travel time.
This is capped based on your location, using the Modified Monash Model (MMM).
Example:
If a physiotherapist has a price limit of $183.99/hour, they can now claim up to $92.00/hour for travel, subject to the time caps for their location.

🏙️ NDIS Travel Time Limits by Location
MMM 1–3 (Metro): 30 minutes each way
MMM 4–5 (Regional): 60 minutes each way
MMM 6–7 (Remote & Very Remote): No time cap
🧾 Note: Travel time and therapy time must be itemised separately on invoices.
🛣️ Non-Labour Travel Costs Still Claimable
There’s no change to non-labour costs — all providers can still claim:
Fuel and vehicle running costs
Road tolls
Parking fees
Flights and accommodation (with participant agreement for remote visits)
❌ Gap Fees Still Not Allowed
The rules around gap fees remain the same:
Providers must not charge extra (including card surcharges or additional admin fees)
Plan managers cannot pay invoices above the NDIS price limit
This applies to both registered and unregistered providers
📢 If a provider tries to charge above the limit, report them to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
🤝 Our Commitment to Participants
We understand that pricing updates can be confusing. Our goal is to ensure you are fully informed and supported during this transition.
If you’re a participant, plan nominee, or support coordinator, make sure your therapy providers understand and follow the updated travel pricing structure.
